A Well-Deserved Honor for Garry Enyart
The 2026 induction of Garry Enyart into the RV Hall of Fame is one of those moments where the entire industry collectively nods and says, “Yeah… that one makes sense.”
Representing Cummins out of Minnesota, Garry has spent his career not just participating in the RV industry—but actively shaping it. His work has consistently brought together OEMs, suppliers, and dealers in a way that actually drives progress (not just more meetings about progress).
And if you’ve worked anywhere near fixed operations over the past decade, you already know the impact of one of his biggest contributions: RECT.
The Legacy Behind the Honor: More Than a Title
The RV/MH Hall of Fame exists to recognize leaders who didn’t just succeed—but who changed the trajectory of the industry.
Garry fits that mold perfectly.
- He helped create alignment where there used to be silos
- He pushed for measurable improvement, not just opinions
- And most importantly, he focused on real dealership challenges—not theoretical ones
That last point is where his work resonates most with us at Lightspeed.
RECT: The Idea That Became the Standard
If you’ve heard the term RECT (Repair Event Cycle Time), you’ve seen Garry’s fingerprints on the industry.
RECT measures the number of days from when a repair order is opened to when the unit is picked up. Sounds simple. It’s not.
Because inside that number is everything:
- Parts delays
- Communication breakdowns
- Process inefficiencies
- And ultimately… the customer experience
Back in 2016, Garry helped lead an initiative that brought OEMs, suppliers, and dealers together to analyze over 1,000 work orders. What came out of that wasn’t just data—it was a shared language for fixing a broken process.
And unlike most “industry initiatives,” this one stuck.
Why RECT Matters (and Why Garry Pushed It)
Let’s be real—dealers don’t care about metrics unless they tie directly to outcomes.
RECT does.
- Lower RECT = faster turnaround
- Faster turnaround = better customer experience
- Better experience = stronger CSI, reviews, and repeat business
- And yes… better margins
Garry understood that improving service operations wasn’t about working harder—it was about working smarter and more consistently.
That’s where Lightspeed has been proud to support and amplify this work.
Where Lightspeed and Garry’s Vision Align
At Lightspeed, we’ve always believed that data should do something—not just sit in a report.
That’s exactly what RECT enables.
Through tools like:
- Industry benchmarks
- Days in Shop and Outstanding RO reporting
- Integrated parts sourcing and visibility
- Service Tech Video
- CRM – Service Follow Up Chains
Dealers can actually act on the insights Garry helped bring to life.
And that’s the difference:
RECT isn’t just a number you look at once a month—it’s something you build into your daily rhythm.
The Road Ahead: Continuing What Garry Started
As the industry evolves, the foundation Garry helped build is only becoming more important.
We’re seeing the next phase already take shape:
- Smarter parts identification and sourcing
- Tablets and real-time data in the service bay
- AI-driven recommendations and pattern recognition
- Better benchmarking across the industry
But here’s the thing—none of that matters without the discipline and structure that RECT introduced.
Garry didn’t just help define a metric.
He helped define a mindset.
A Personal Note of Gratitude
From all of us at Lightspeed, and from the countless dealers who have benefited from his work:
Thank you, Garry.
Your leadership didn’t just improve processes—it helped move an entire industry forward.
And that’s exactly what the Hall of Fame is meant to recognize.
